The Angular Festival — Creative Technology
A custom publishing tool and autonomous stage visualiser extending an acid-pop festival identity across social media and live performance.

In collaboration with Focus Group Radio, Television Dust co-created The Angular Festival, a punk and alternative music and art discovery festival.
Alongside developing the festival’s visual language, we built two systems to extend the identity across its digital communication and main stage.
Angular Template Tool
To streamline the large number of artist announcements and social posts required for the festival, we created a custom design tool based on Angular’s visual identity. It takes an image and text as input, with controls for changing shapes, colours and backgrounds, generating distinct versions while keeping every post within the same system.
Main Stage Visualiser
For the main stage, we developed a largely self-running visual system using OpenRenderer, with a simplified control interface on an iPad. It combined a live camera feed with hand-drawn illustrations, collage elements and bright acid-pop colours.
The system could move between full live control and an autopilot mode designed to remain varied over long periods, allowing visuals to evolve between performances without constant operation.
